Busy busy busy!

Xmas Eve

The Webb family decided we'd meet at our place on xmas eve this year to celebrate the growing family and the summer solstice. We had a lovely night together and Isla enjoyed the wrapping paper probably more than the gifts inside. Duncan and I decided to prepare the food in a tapas style arrangement and of course we made way too much, and Nickole entertained us with fire twirling. A pleasant time was had by all of us.

Xmas Day

Luckily Santa found our place and Isla recieved some very cool sunnies that she won't wear but also a rattle that she just won't put down - so Santa got one thing right anyway!

So in the morning we (being Dunk, myself, Isla and my dad Gary) joined Dunk's parents Blair and Trish, and Marg and Peter for a spot of breakfast, and then in the evening at Marg and Peter's place for dinner. We indulged ourselves once again on the wonderful cooking of Marg and Trish. Uncle Frank and Kitty were also there so it was very special to spend xmas day with them too. Overall, I think Isla really enjoyed it all.

Bit of a family pic

Here is Isla with Aunty Marg showing how she likes to be on her feet (and her lovely little gingham dress!)

And here are the little letters for Isla's door that Aunty Lib and Uncle Ian sent over for her.

Cold Brisbane Summer, eh?

I wanted to add these pictures in because Isla looked so cute and will probably never wear this again. For end of December temperatures, this day took the cake - it was cold! So we took the opportunity for this fashion parade. Enjoy!

Rochelle and John's Wedding

Duncan and I were honoured to be invited to Rochelle and John's wedding on the 29th December. (Rochelle is our mate of Karate times, and she also worked at Dunk's school). Of course we would and did go, but we were faced with our first babysitting challenge - not to mention that the wedding was down at Surfer's Paridise. We decided to hire a room for the night and to take Dunk's parents, Trish and Blair, with us so that they could mind Isla for us during the wedding. The wedding was just beautiful and they had a lovely intimate reception at the Watermark Hotel. We would have loved to stayed longer but unfortunately, our little girl did not settle well without me in a strange room, so we made an early departure from the reception. We wish John and Rochelle all the happiness in the world!

Here is the happy newly weds.

Here are the happy guests - obviously pre-Isla madness!

Isla at the Beach

So while we were down at Surfers Paradise, it wouldn't have been a complete visit without taking Isla to the water's edge - and she just loved it too! (even getting mad at us when we left to go back).

Just a couple of more pics to finish with - here are the gang getting ready to start the day - Isla was quite amused with Blair shaving with the electric razor.

And here's the happy family with our lovely view behind us.

We wish everyone a safe and happy new year!

What happened in the last Month?

Hi everyone.... sorry I just looked up, took a breath and discovered that a month has passed since the last entry. So what can I tell you? Isla has cut her first tooth! (Can you see it?)
We had been saying for the last 2 months that she was teething - I suppose parts of that was true! She had some very unsettled nights and had been rubbing her gums on anything and everything. The day I discovered she had actually cut her bottom left front tooth, she had slept the best she had ever slept. (Unfortuantely, can't say that's continued!).

Over the past month we had some lovely guests stay with us, Kaz, Lily and Lewis... Lily is Isla's new best friend and looked after her beautifully!

We also had a visit from Robbo who flew over from Greece (hi over there)! We had a lovely lunch with Robbo, Geoffo, Ello, Craigo and Tony(o). We'll have to try to get over there to see Rob and Chrysa who we miss very much!

Just wanted to add this pic in of Isla with the evil-eye that Rob and Chrysa bought her. She just loves it and always tries to play with it whenever we have to change her nappy (and that's a lot!)

We are now in the throws of preparing ourselves for the holiday period which is always hectic. Duncan is on school holidays so it's nice to have him around and for him to now unwind from a very stressful last term.

In the meantime hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday period!
