Cooking up a Storm

The long awaited Kitchen has arrived! YAY! And we are very pleased with how it looks... first here is a picture of when it the kitchen was delivered in all it's pieces.....

And here it is 4 days later in it's final position. A few finishing touches need to be done to the top of the cupboards and some tiling but that should be happening soon. We are really enjoying having it finally but we have to get used to having a dishwasher now... packing it properly is definitely an art that we need to master yet.

So now all that's left to do is to get the wall re-done where the old kitchen sink was (see pic below), get the loo walls done as well, and to get the floors re-polished.

Duncan and I are so excited about the great area that we've had created... it's so spacious now and has a really great feel to it - definitely good feng shui. We can't help smiling while we walk through it or cook in the new kitchen or sit on the new deck. Once all our renovations are done, we will then think about the fact that we will have a baby around the place... as you can see I am putting on that belly weight which means all is going very well. We saw the midwife last Thursday and heard our baby's heartbeat. An old wives tale says that for a boy, the heat rate is between 120-140 bpm, for a girl it's 140-160. Our's was 144 bpm. Not very definitive! Anyway, all is well. Take care everyone.

Fun fun fun

Well as you can all see I have finally managed to figure out how to put a webcam and video onto our blog. I have just put a little clip of a splinter that I had into the movies section. If you join up and have a webcam I think that you can have multiple cams working at once so you can conference. Have a go. I have also placed a countdown till the birth on the blog. Keep having fun.

Flash those pearly whites!!!

We have had yet another busy weekend preparing for our long awaited kitchen. I managed to rip out some more of the kitchen so that there is room for our new one, as seen in the picture:
Also seen in the picture is Natasha holding a paint brush as she completes painting the back of the house. Aprt from the kitchen demolition I also managed to rip the walls off the toilet and the most of the floor covering up. It looks awful now, but hopefully in a few weeks it will look better than ever.

And now for the good news: Our great mate Geoff announced that he had been accepted to study dentistry at the University of Queensland. We invited Geoff and El over to celebrate and discuss future dental plans with him, as you can see by the pics we all need a little attention.

By the way they are fake teeth!!! Keep on smiling :>

End of week 10!

More Birthdays!

On Sunday Dunk and I joined Blair and Trish, Marg and Peter, and Kitty to celebrate Peter and Kitty's birthdays with a delicious afternoon tea. We had a lovely time and as you can see everyone is looking well and happy. I am pictured here with the birthday people wearing the gorgeous lime maternity top that Libby sent me - according to Trish, I fill it well!!! I think I can safely say now that I am about to enter the third trimester with 3 months to go.

Renovations Continue

The renovations are still progressing - if not a bit slowly. We have at least another week and a bit until the kitchen is delivered but in the meantime, Duncan has been doing a great job with painting and here is the father-of-the-child himself, in action!

Engagements and Birthdays

Engagements:

YAY!!! Jason and Lindsey are getting married next year!!! We were delighted when they dropped over to tell us their good news. For those of you reading this who don't know - Jason is my brother and he has been with Lindsey for 5 years now. Jason proposed to Linds while they were down at the Gold Coast in a very nice hotel. He said he asked her just before leaving their room for dinner, and said he had something for her that would match what she was wearing.... and then gave her the ring with the usual proposal line. She said "Of course!" And then she added "Oh, I feel sick!" he he he... ain't love grand! Congratulations Jason and Lindsey!!!

And our great friends Karen and Glenn have set a date for their wedding next year, the 7th April, and at which I will be one of the bridesmaids and Dunk will be the MC. We are very honoured to be asked and very excited for Kaz and Glenn too. Woo Hoo.... 2 weddings to look forward to .... they say things happen in 3's... so who else will be tying the knot next year????

Birthdays

My nephew Dylan turned 2 years old on the 6th February so we went over to his place to celebrate with him. He loved his cake and showed us some of his toys.....

Hmmm.... Week 9

Belly Shots
Well yet again we've not much to say regarding the renovations but here are a couple of pics of myself with a big tummy at 26 weeks.... just playing around with angles for this weeks photo shoot! You might have to look closely in the window f
or my belly reflection!
Dinners
So once a week Dunk and I have been invited to Blair and Trish's place for dinner where they treat us to dinners that have been cooked in the oven - obviously since we do not have an oven at this stage we are absolutely delighted. This week we were treated to roast pork and apple sauce.

Furniture
We had our outdoor furniture arrive on the weekend and it took Dunk several hours to assemble. The finished product looks absolutely fabulous and we are just so happy with it. Not to give too much away at this stage (we'll wait until it's all finished before showing you the complete picture) here are a couple of pics to just show a little. We've put on the deck a wedding present from Greenslopes School, the chiminea that has been waiting for a home for 18 months! Also here is a wall ornament given to us by our mates Chrysa and Rob who live in Greece.

Kiai
Here again is the ever restful Kiai... well I thought he was a bit dopey but I was proven wrong the closer I got!!

Living the Dream... week 8

Hi there - well I can't say that much has really happened this week regarding the renovation so I'll just tell you what else we've been up to. Duncan mowed the lawn. I know it doesn't sound that exciting but the grass was about up to our waist while we've had so much rubbish around the place. We've also done some gardening - pulling out the weeds and planting some seedlings like corn, silverbeet, beetroot, lettuce and others. It's looking really nice.
We bought our paint for the deck posts and outside walls, and paint for the inside walls and ceiling. It was difficult trying to match the colours... we were positive the colours were right and even looking in the pot the colour was right...
but on the wall it looks a shade different. Oh well, it'll work out in the end, we just have to paint the entire wall instead of patching it up like we thought we could do. I've put an example of the painting in progress here on the posts for the deck, this colour is called Manor Red - this is to match the roof and flashing. One thing the builder did do this week was finally put locks on our new kitchen windows - see photo!

To finish off, Kiai has discovered a new place to lie around....

And Scott and Zaneta sent us some lovely flowers to congratulate us on the pregnancy. They are absolutely beautiful as you can see. Many thanks to them. And here I am at 25 weeks. All is well.
