It's what's up top.... week 7

Hiddee Ho.... well last week the roof for the deck finally went on, and it is just awesome! Very happy with the outcome. The shade makes so much difference and we even had our dinner out there when it was raining during the week. The kitchen people came out to measure up after the plaster board went up in the kitchen area and they said it's going to take about 3-4 weeks before they finished re-modelling the cabinets for them to fit. So not much will be happening for a while. This weekend we bought some blinds for the kitchen when it's done, but we also bought a set for the window above the front door. It's made a huge difference to the heat in the afternoon, and the best part was that it was a bargain! Reduced from $149 to $20!!!! Excellent.

For the past week we have also been without an oven so Dunk and I have been experimenting with cooking on the bbq - and we've had some great outcomes. We are looking forward to having guests over to impress! (Once we get out outdoor furniture that is!). Anyhow, we are both well and so is the bump, which is growing everyday. The baby also moves quite regularly and is quite noticeable when it's really banging around in there. It's all good and we are very happy.

It's electrifying... building continues, week 6

This week we had the builders come back for one day to put in the second window in the kitchen area... definitely an improvement to the original plans. Since we had to wait all week for the electrician to come, the builders couldn't really do a whole heap so we didn't see much of them at all this week. The electrician came on Friday to talk about where to put lights, power points, light fittings etc, and they managed to start some of the work that day too. However, during one of the trips up in the ceiling space, that is exactly what the apprentice did... triped and put a big hole through our ceiling at the top of the stairs (see pics!). Anyhow, I'm sure that will get fixed when the plasterer comes in.

Regarding the pregnancy, I am nearly 23 weeks now and the belly button is slowly flattening out (bit like Kiai on the couch!). I have had to put my usual work trousers to the rear of the wardrobe now, and I've had to go clothes shopping... which I don't like at the best of times, but the situation is calling for it!

Twin Calves and Beers

Last Wednesday Robbo returned!!! We picked him up from the airport and drove to his parents place in Kilarney. They had no idea that he was returning from Greece so they had quite a suprise when we rocked up. We spent the evening drinking beers (Tash watched) and eating beautiful food. The next day Tash went for a walk with Robbo's Dad (Ian) around the property and they came across two newly born calves (later named Tash and Dunk aka Trash and Drunk). The calves needed to be moved so using the latest satelite technology Robbo and Duncan were called to assist. Later that day we went for a fantastic lunch at Spring Creek Mountain Cafe , which had beautiful food and a spectacular view. A big thankyou to Denise and Ian for their hospitality again.
